Networking and systems administration programmes teach how to build and run the infrastructure everything else sits on — switches, routers and wireless, servers and virtualisation, directory services, cloud platforms, backup and monitoring. It is the most hands-on of Florida's four computing programmes and the most widely available: more institutions teach it than teach any other computing subject in the state.
The degrees this program covers
56 Florida public institutions and 1,733 credentials in the 2023 federal award year — the widest computing footprint in the state, and the one where TECHNICAL COLLEGES matter most. Sheridan, Atlantic, Immokalee, Tom P. Haney, Traviss, Emerald Coast and Radford Locklin are among the leading producers on the networking code, alongside Valencia's 414 and Miami Dade's 205 on the systems-administration code. ⚠⚠ The delivery split is the decision to get right: much of this is taught as clock-hour PSAV certificates (150 to 600 hours, in stacked occupational completion points) that carry NO COLLEGE CREDIT, and much of it is taught as A.S. coursework that does. Both prepare you for the same vendor examinations. ⚠ Only one of them counts if you later want a degree, and nobody points that out at enrolment. ⚠⚠⚠ Vendor certifications do a great deal of the work employers actually screen on in this field — more than in any other computing programme — so ask what certifications a programme prepares you for and at whose cost.

Each one sets out the courses along the way, the licence or certification at the end,
and the sources behind it.
Neighbouring fields that share much of the same coursework, and often the same employers.
⚠ Read these before you commit to a major — which doors a neighbouring degree
keeps open is the part no catalog tells you, and it is far cheaper to change now than later.
56 institutions awarded a credential in this field in 2023,
at these levels: Associate, Bachelor's, Certificate (1-2 years), Certificate (12 weeks-1 year).
A school appears here if it awards anything in the field, however limited
its offering — a technical college teaching only practical nursing has a nursing
program. Listed alphabetically, not ranked.

the most recent year published. ⚠ It records what was awarded, which is
strong evidence of what is offered, but a program launched since 2023
will not appear here. Check the institution’s own catalog before applying.
