Course Description

TDR0776 Drafting Detailer 2 is a 150-hour Career and Technical Education (CTE) course in the Florida postsecondary Technical Drafting program (Engineering Technologies cluster). It represents Occupational Completion Point C (paired with TDR0775 Drafting Detailer 1) in a seven-OCP planned sequence of instruction. The course builds upon foundational and intermediate drafting skills to develop advanced competency in mechanical, structural, and civil drafting using both manual techniques and computer-aided design (CAD) software, including 3-D modeling. Content includes but is not limited to advanced mechanical drawings, production and tool drawings using 3-D CAD, pneumatic/hydraulic schematic drawings, structural detail drawings (steel, reinforced concrete, and wood), and project planning skills. Students completing this course are prepared for employment as drafting detailers or to continue into advanced training in the drafting and design field.

Completion of TDR0776 prepares students for entry-level to intermediate employment as drafting detailers and CAD technicians across multiple engineering sectors. Relevant occupations include:

Students may continue to OCP D (TDR0570 — Drafting Technician) within the same program for advanced training, or pursue an Associate in Science (A.S.) in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design at a Florida State College.

Special Information

Occupational Completion Point (OCP) & Certification

TDR0776 constitutes OCP C (along with TDR0775 Drafting Detailer 1) in the Florida postsecondary Technical Drafting program sequence. Students who demonstrate competency at this OCP may exit the program for employment as a Drafting Detailer or continue to the next OCP for additional training. Career and Technical credit is awarded per Section 1001.44(3)(b), F.S.
