Course Description

Metrology and Instrumentation and Lab addresses industrial measurement fundamentals, covering calibration; precision measurement and its relationship to geometric tolerances; and quality assurance using manual and automated gauges. It includes checking fixtures, laser, and other non-contact measuring systems along with statistical analysis and process control, extending to numerical techniques for calculating engineering quantities including displacement, area, volume, temperature, pressure, flow, force, and motion.
