CTS2375C – Cloud+ is a 3-credit course covering cloud computing infrastructure, deployment, operations, and security, aligned to the CompTIA Cloud+ certification. The C suffix reflects a required laboratory — the subject cannot be learned without building things in an actual cloud environment.

But hiring is largely provider-specific, so the natural next step after this course is a provider associate certification — AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Azure Administrator (AZ-104), or the Google Cloud equivalent. Students should pick whichever their target employers use (in Florida, AWS and Azure both have substantial presence) and pursue it while the concepts are fresh. Cloud hiring responds to demonstrable work. A student who deploys a small multi-tier application — network, compute, storage, load balancer, monitoring — and can explain the architecture and the cost has something to talk about in an interview. Better still if it is defined in Terraform and pushed to a public repository, since infrastructure as code is what distinguishes an operator from a clicker. Screenshots of a console are weak evidence; a repository and an architecture diagram are strong.
Like Linux administration and databases, this field has essentially no cost barrier to practice: free tiers on all three major providers, free structured labs through AWS Academy and Microsoft Learn, and free tooling in Terraform and Docker. The constraint is discipline about cleanup rather than money — provided the billing alert is set.
